I have an existing investment loan with Westpac. I would like to refinance. So I called/spoke to the generic enquiry line. To my surprise, the answer I got was so non-21st century> they said "we must assign a home-loan agent to call you to initiate the process", but I live overseas and I don't have Aussie mobile to receive their call, so I asked if email works, was blanket no.

So If anyone recently used/have a good contact of home-loan specialist could you PM me please? Apparently it's ok if I reach out to the home-loan specialist from my end. How silly the process...

Just get an Australian mortgage broker to handle it for you.

Brokers deal with a separate line of people at the bank in most instances, we don't speak to the home loan agents/specialist as they are not part of the broker application process.

    As an aside, why Westpac?

thx, may check brokers if so.

why westpac - been using them ever since i was a uni student long time ago and just by virtue of being with them evolved to getting a few loans. obviously i am aware of many better options but being an expat, getting loan can be tricky cuz not all banks accept overseas income. this particular one been sitting idle for 6yrs now and feel like getting ripped off with 4.3pct variable rate
