    Yep. Just saw this on the news. The rail between the new airport and St Marys will be ready from day 1.

    Plus they are building a business hub/shops etc...right next to the new airport. Expected 200,000 jobs. Giddy up!!!

    Not selling my St Marys/Colyton/Mt Druitt houses anytime soon - actually any of my Western Sydney houses. Everything is coming together for the west finally I love it :)

    In the future there will be 4 major business hubs around all these areas. Marsden Park (still expanding), Norwest (Expanding), Penrith further west and now the New Airport. Greater Western Sydney going to be awesome!!!

    Great news for the region. :)

    Next 10 years will be amazing for thw area.

    I do t have anything up St Mary's end but good luck to investors that do.

    Hooe they run it to Campbelltown region to create a very good interconnected network.

    I don't know why you guys are getting so excited. They are just saying they will build a rail line and spend $100 mil on a business case proposal. We already knew all that. They have been **** farting around with this forever.

    ^ Its been signed today by 3 levels of government. Thats a big deal for all levels of government to be 100% co-operative with one another to achieve a single/common goal .

    Great! In 5-10 years when they tell us exactly where the stations will be and how the route will run I will get excited.

    Great! - by then you would have missed out on $500k capital growth. Dont be like some other members on here mate - giving incorrect info and down ramping the project since day 1. They will eat their words.

    A project this large doesnt happen overnight or even over a few years. Its takes a long long time to come to fruition.

    But it will happen.

    Not down playing it at all. I'm disappointed because I want it to happen asap! I have 2 properties along the corridor. I just wish they would confirm it all and get on with it.

    Then just sit back and relax. Smile and have a drink - you will make money. Actually lets make money together - I hope whoever invested or is going to invest in the greater west makes millions and millions.

    I love to see people succeed. No angst or hate from me.

    I read the other day Jay Z surpassed P Diddy as the worlds richest singer/producer. Worth over 900million. Congrats to him - big time hustler he is. Hard work pays off.

    Im hoping the rental market will be tight during construction phase.

    I feel rentals are too cheap at the moment for quality of what people are getting.

    Also. Another massive financial commitment for NSW/Sydney means employment market will be very tight for at Least another 10 years or more.

    Great news, western Sydney is a very safe area in my opinion to invest in.

    This is yet another project and even if it kicks in 5 to 10 years time there is many, many other projects either already under way or not far from kick off.

    St Mary's looking good imo. Hopefully breathes some life into the Main Street big potential for a nice shopping and restaurant strip instead of all the brothels at the moment

    100% long long process

    But the good thing is if you are already committed and have investments in area you may benefit from a tighter rental market as this project creates massive amount of employment and demand for local services.

    Also because it is staged it will require different trades over many many years.

    Alot of the mining projects are very critical during construction as it brings alot of new wealth to an area.

    Time will tell.

    There will be three primary packages of work that constitute the main airport works program.

    The main airport works program for the Stage 1 development will include:

    • earthworks to move and redistribute 22 million cubic metres of soil on the Badgerys Creek site;
    • a 3.7 kilometre runway, aprons, taxiways and other appropriate aviation facilities;
    • a multi-level terminal with a floor area of up to 90,000 square metres;
    • drainage and utilities;
    • car-parking facilities for around 11,500 cars; and
    • on-site roads.
