This is a fairly common architecture in the Mediterranean and Middle East.

Nah they had a vision for a "lock up weekender" and went for it.

Have a friend in the USA that has something similar, locks it up 6 months of the year when winter comes and comes back in Summer when Florida gets too hot etc. Gets some horrific wind gusts etc so needed something totally containable for snow/wind/storms etc.

Ghoulish of me, I know, but I do always wonder how this came to be on the market. I mean, it was only built last year. So someone's plans fell through big time.

Can't see how they could possibly get their money back, as it is such a specialist property.

"I'd like to live in a place that's quite like a lighthouse but it's not one. Quite like a conference centre but it's got only one bathroom. Near the water but no one would call it a beach house."

    Said no one ever.

I love it, it's like a modern version of a English Georgian house.

Very solid looking house, and it would need to be built to withstand the wind factor as there is no trees on that high spot..

I love it! The only downside to my mind is that there is only 2 bedrooms.
    Very practical and unique.

That's close to paradise for me. I love it - not the look of the outside so much, but the environment....and the views....oh my soul!

    And that cooker....

I'd happily stay there all winter - slow cooked food and a glass of red...does life get better than that?

I like it, but I would prefer the blocks to look a bit more weathered but maybe the weather will take care of that.

What an amazing position and that view...

The internal doors don't suit and the curtains and furnishings just jar for me, like a normal suburban home, when they could have stepped things up a bit more I think for such a unique build.

And the fridge at the end of a hallway behind the kitchen would annoy me.

That all sounds picky, but that is where I'm at with this house. I'd live there and make a few changes.

    Extremely impractical.

To be practical, there should be a door to the bathroom. There's none marked on the plan. Logically, it's to the hallway.

Polarising...I also love the location and especially those boulders, but I want to see a property that fits in with the landscape, and has finishes & colours that reflect the view and surroundings.

Oh gosh, that's hideous. One thing I can say with certainty - there was no architect involved with that design. And I suspect the builder had never seen an architecture magazine. T

here are so many interesting things that could have been done with that site, and they've put an ugly box on it (with a suboptimal floor plan), and filled it with hideous furniture. What a damn shame.

2 BR - obviously it was supposed to be an apartment block, but the owner ran out of money after building 1 unit..... :D

Yeah, I don't quite get it. The idea would have been to make something fortress like. There was a great Seidler house built on a windy cliff south of Sydney that I liked:
