We bought the house!! :)

    Hi,
    Well, we bought the amazing house I told some of you about, the cooling off finished 5pm today, I totally forgot it till the agent called me just a few minutes ago. :)

    Lovely people to deal with at that agency.
    The agent called me and told me he was happy we bought it, it was supposed to go to auction early Dec. There were offers or people trying to buy it before auction but he said those people they werent nice and pointing out any faults the property has in order to get it cheaper. But he said he liked my honesty, and he liked me (we had previously had a very long conversation... like... I was the only person who attended an open at another home he had open maybe 3 or 4 weeks prior so we chatted for the full half hour) :)

    The agent said it would have gone for over $2mill if it was sold earlier in the year and I agree with him on that. So we got an absolute bargain!!
    We settle on 18th Feb.

    All I can say is... amazing house! :D
    Heritage listed over 100 years old... in a conservation street... sandstone house.... just jaw droppingly beautiful.

    So, a lot of work next couple of months in preparation as we want to sell current PPOR (do some minor repairs too I think) and I'll sell an IP.

    Congratulations @Gockie on the purchase and going unconditional.

    We also like being nice and direct with agents, building that connection really helps.

    Have fun preparing for the big move :)

    Excellent condition, thats a new roof you see, block size over 1000 sqm, corner block, subdividable under council rules. Its a 4/2 with parking and I would use some of the rooms for Airbnbing, as the back side of the house has 2 levels and the lower level has its own entry doors too. Lovely outlook with the 2 levels of balconies out the back. :)

    Its probably about 4-5x as much as a nice house is in southern Adelaide, but that is ok with me!
