Garlic is brilliant at beating the flu however to avoid garlic breath you should give yourself one clove as a suppository. You're welcome.

    Time or Tamiflu.
I've never taken Tamiflu. By the time I know I've got it, I can't get out of bed.

Garlic taken in quantity is a very effective preventative.

That's because nobody can get close enough to pass on any infections.

Will also cut up a couple onions next to the bed.. its supposed to absorb the bacteria apparently?

Probably better off going to the chemist and asking for Codral "Original" - it's got the good stuff in it but the junkies have ruined it for everyone so you have to give your ID.

I doubt Berocca is helping with keeping the flu away and I would be looking at what is in it. Two a day is likely not helping you in any way. You could be overdosing on whatever is in Berocca. Isn't Berocca mainly Vit B for quick pick up after drinking? And what makes the fizz? Check the label and ask a chemist. I don't think it is meant to be taken every day.

I asked my doctor yesterday if we should get the flu shot this year (quad dose). She said because we are going away it is worth doing rather than spoil a holiday if we catch it in the various places we will be traveling. I've never had one before.

I didn't try the full recipe.. Didn't have enough energy to cook for an 1hr+.. But cooked up a large amount or onion, garlic and chilli served on top of leftover fritters. Seems to have made a nice improvement. I finally felt well enough to walk the dogs this morning :)

Annual flu shots will prevent the most common flus.

As to the symptoms of a cold: a lemon drink made with juice of a fresh lemon, crushed garlic, grated ginger and a small pinch of cayenne pepper, honey to taste and boiling water. Really helps.

Also, cold and flu tablets, lots of fluids and rest. I had a bug of some sort last week and watched three seasons of VEEP over three days...

Yep, I have flu vaccine every year, had it last week. Can get it done at a lot of pharmacies now without a script.

Under $10 from the discount chemist chain and you can book online. Get in quick though as they book up quickly.

My employer provides the flu vax for any staff who want it.

I put a few drops of eucalyptus oil on the onion for some added goodness. Onions have been used for hundreds of years, something in them and the "absorbingness"

I've had one flu shot... Worst flu I've ever had! Out of action for 3days, coincidence? o_O
It protects against certain stains so your not totally protected. Prevention is better than a cure... Except if your in the Vax business!

Take some vitamin c and garlic while you're away and wash hands regularly etc

It's true that the flu fax protects against the most common strains expected in a particular season, not all strains. However, I'll happily take those odds.

You cannot get the flu from a flu vax.

are we sure the flu vaccine isn't a very low dose of each flu strain for the body to build up its own immunity to the strain?

It is so technically you get the flu, before you get the flu

I remember work was doing the flu shots years ago. I remember reading the warning about being allergic to eggs or something? No thank you.

You cannot get flu from the vax. That is proven but still does the rounds every year. But allergy to eggs is something to watch for.
