    Hi Guys.

    Just need some advise here.

Long story short. Got a granny flat built sometime in 2016 and noticed there are waterproofing issues after 2 years and few days due to poor workmanship and design defect.

    1. Contacted builder - no reply
    2. Contacted insurance company - got an expert report from them advising the defects and waterproofing is not covered
    2. Contacted Fair Trading and they advise me to go tribunal

Is there any hope for me to get the builder to fix the issue ?

    Cheers

Have you followed Fair Trading's advice?

If you have email to the builder notifying fault and the report also sent do the builder, next step is tribunal. Line it up.

The builder can only escape a rectification order if he dies or becomes bankrupt. Then the home warranty insurance will kick in.
