Can a Tiler provide a certificate from a Plumber confirming waterproofing is done to required standards.

I have been getting quotes from tilers and one has said, they provide a certificate from a plumber. However the tiler is not licensed by the QBCC as a tiler. The job is under $3300, so no problems there, but don't want to risk it.

Only requirement is a completed QBSA Form 16 signed by holder of a Waterproofing licence- ur tiler/ plumber may have this licence but that's requirement. Have a couple of guys we use for SEQ waterproofing if you need

    Good luck, Wal

Found this thread and hope the OP @Coastal can enlighten. How did you go with this one?
We are in the process of renovating our bathrooms and have so many tradies now that I am getting a bit overwhelmed. Who does what.....

@Pumpkin - are you going as owner builder?

As an OB, each subbie is to provide home warranty insurance for their trade only. No insurance, you have no coverage.

A carpenter is restricted to the works on their licence ie can't supervise/do building works.

I have started another thread on this topic plus home warranty insurance.
Not wanting to be OB for a myriad of reasons....
I'm fine with//hoping that Subbies just provide warranty on their respective works...

We get the tiler to waterproof. Saves the waterproofer blaming the tiler and vice versa if there is a leak.

Yes, I am very pleased with the last tiler who came... He also does waterproof and has license for both tiling and waterproofing... Phew!

My Carpenter demo'ed the bathroom, re-sheeted the walls and floor where it was required
The plasterer did his bit for the walls
Plumber connected the basin and changed the taps to mixers
Painter did the painting once the work was finished

Your tiler should be able to demo the bathroom, sheet the walls and floors if required if it is a simple job. It would make it easier.

Run it through the tiler and use their contacts it will make things easier.
