    Haha!!!

This guy would go to work every day with a .22 pistol in his ankle holster. And I know he has used it.

One day he was surrounded by 7 thugs in a half moon shape, up against his car. He worked out who the leader was, drew his .22 pistol, pointed it to the leader’s forehead and said: “I know I am dead but you are going before me”.

They backed away, he jumped into his car, …

Unfortunately, this type of abhorrent behaviour is becoming more and more common.

Glad yourself and family escaped unharmed.

He kept his magnum at home to protect his family.
He put his safety above the law

To the genius poster above who is continuing to suggest its somehow the victims fault - you're beyond ridiculous. Any fair-minded, reasonable person here will agree. A family goes to a park to enjoy a picnic, play on the swings and leave in peace. We weren't disturbing anyone, we weren't acting like a 'chump' as you call it, or asking for trouble. We came in peace and wanted to leave in peace. To imply it's possibly the victim's fault is beyond preposterous.

Guess it's a female thing ... but no way on God's earth would I ever use a park public toilet in a million years. I'd have gone back and shuffled, cross legged, thru the shopping mall

But that comes back to the "always alert" keys in the fingers way we pass thru life

Oh @Sackie I'm so sorry this happened to you- getting mugged is traumatic (I have a couple of relatives who have been accosted in broad daylight) Thank goodness you're ok and the family weren't involved.

Thanks @Jacque . Main thing is we left without any injuries. I made a formal report with detailed descriptions to the police this morning. They seemed more interested than I'd imagined and said the local PD will make some rounds . Hopefully they can stop them from terrorising others.

As long as it is a 38 or a 45, it doesn't really matter where you keep it :p

There is a good chance that yours is not the first report.
Highly possible the police know who you are talking about.

Yeah I'm now thinking the same. Tbh I find the whole situation quite sad. Once upon a time not that long ago these youths were innocent toddlers, now terrorisers. And their futures? Who knows. They must have been failed over and over again pretty badly at some point early on.

Well done Sackie. Always comforting to know you can put up a good fight if it is ever needed.

I have tried to instill in my 13yo young fella that it is important to learn how to defend yourself (and possibly others) just in case, and if there is no other option, so he is training BJJ and some boxing.

There are a lot of idiots around and it can't always be avoided.

This came up in a conversation I was having yesterday. Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, despite what some people were guessing.

I have been training about 6 years now, 4-5 times a week at the moment - still a lowly purple belt...

Although I am very comfortable in a grappling situation, not sure how I would react with 3 on 1 , different ball game entirely....
