    Hey guys,

I'm going to pull out my wall furnace and looking at some options, what have people have in mind?

Some pics of the area and your considerations would help @sauber , we could waste your and our time providing all kinds of random opinions without it, that may not suit or be relevant

If you have a wall furnace then what are you intending to replace heating with? Ducted gas or ducted/split reverse cycle?

Is there 2 of them? both pics have different furnishings/paint.

I've never removed one but guess it would be simply sitting flush against/screwed to the wall, presumably simple to remove, only plugged into power-point, big job will be patching the ceiling and cornice.

If its built-in and that's the kitchen on the other side of the wall, perhaps rip the wall out for open plan

Personally if it's an IP and working I'd leave it, perhaps for better appeal I'd paint the wall paneling white, build some decent wall units or shelving either side to make it look built-in

Wall furnaces are typically flued so there will be that to remove too

This pic gives you the best understanding of what is happening, it's the first thing you see when you enter from the house so you look at the furnace.

That why I think having a tv on the wall with a gas log fire beneath would look nice but hey it might not work ey....

The kitchen is on the other side and its built in a little bit.

There is a vent to the kitchen on the other side

Also they are the same spot i just renod the house and the wall painted white is the most recent pic

Yes I would have to remove the flue. I think to put in a gas log fire with everything installed I think about 5k I'd like to think.....

Might be a similar cost for ducted heating, that's the direction i'd go - especially as it's your PPOR. May get a good deal on new heating in the summer too.
