Is that code for "hanging out in the lunch room all day?" I've seen it with my own eyes!

    Hi Aaron,

Can you recommend some good draftees? We'll add to the rolodex. I'm particularly keen to have my own designs so as not to get taken for a ride.

    Thanks,
    Stannis

    Good call @Blacky
Lower brickwork was completed last week, about a week over schedule, I suspect there were a few days in the middle where they ran out of bricks.
Carport steel that will support U3 above it started late last week.
Had independent inspection done mid last week. Identified some annoying, but seemingly 'industry accepted' stuff on the brickwork. Items such as missing and messy mortar, door frames put on wrong directions (3 of them! wtf) plus a few sections where bricks haven't been laid on enough of a mortar bed. Nothing massive, have been told all will be fixed before progressing.
A big concern is one part of the slab was setout about 230mm short by the concreter, affecting a bedroom and a wc, both on external walls. Have been assured by the builder that the footings beneath are laid correct and thus membrane and termite treatment unaffected. My unprofessional opinion is the concreter they used is in the wrong business!
Am now waiting for a written response from builder on how they'll rectify identified issues.
All part of the fun ;)
It's been great though to finally see how the footprint of the building sits on the block and also how the internal spaces/flow of the rooms are.

I always find it amating how small the slab looks. Even when the brick work is complete. It's not till late in the build that the true size is apparent.

Yeah same, the rooms start tiny, seem to get slightly larger with brickwork, larger again with plaster.

Wow. Just wow. Someone needed to supervise the apprentice a bit closer.

My sister built in Perth with one of the big builders. The walls are so far out its visable to the naked eye. She had to get custom curtain made which are slightly longer at one end so the height difference in the wall isn't obvious.

That's pretty bloody bad! Project builders are about 12 months or so out of a boom so there was some horrible stuff going on during the brickie shortages etc. Still, no excuse. And definitely no bloody excuse now that the work has all dried up!

Me too - I had brickwork go up during the shortage, and it looked crap. Not as crap as that though!

True. Draftys would be the go to person imo, good drafty and designer to get the job done. Isnt an architect just an "exterior" designer?:p

This is doing the rounds atm. Would like to see the rest of the definitions :)
