    Hello ;)

You can see the bathroom tiles from our kitchen? Looks a bit weird...

What is the best way of fixing this ?

I have attached a pic to show what I mean...

I think you have to live with it unless you want to use an angle grinder to cut the tiles back to the inside edge of door (apply tile angle) and polish 35-40mm of newly exposed floorboards to match existing floorboards.

Well you need airflow for exhaust fan so I'd recommend against building it down. I've seen arc/skirting tacked onto the bottom before

    A longer door or
A door seal atached to the base of the exterior of door + an air grille in the door face IF its needed. Air grilles may mean bathroom noises are more audible. The timber floor should have been at least to the interior door edge.

Was the door hung too high ? Most bathroom doors have lift off hinges and need a gap at TOP of the door.

The idiot tiler has tiled to the centre of the stop (the piece of timber that stops the door swinging further) rather than the inner edge of the stop. Total amateur.

You could attach a transition strip (the type that is used between two different surfaces). Use black or a neutral colour.

You can buy them from Bunnings..

Although it doesn’t look like it in this case can also occur when the doors are re hung to open the opposite way after the floor coverings have been done, seen this before changing toilet doors from outward to inward opening

Thanks - we have worked out what it is...the door has been incorrectly positioned

Is it a pain to move the door? Obviously the builder will go with what is easier..

    The timber is Tasmanian oak

How can the door be incorrectly positioned when it needs to be flush with the edge of the jamb on the inside face?

If the door & doorway gets moved (not very easy), the tiled walls would have gaps.

There seems to be enough room to move the vertical jamb that the doors closes against forward. But it would mean repainting. I like the idea from @Beano of adding a strip to the bottom but that also will need to be painted.

Best to move the jamb I reckon if you can get it painted easily. That's what hubby would do, because I would be the one painting it.
