    Hi All

I was just wondering whether anyone had any experience with utilising overseas assistants to conduct some of the legwork around locating good purchases, such as writing to land owners, locating suitable lots for development etc and, if so, whether it was a good experience? Also, whether anyone can refer an agency or assistant.

    Many thanks

    Ben

Quite a few of the mortgage brokers on this forum do that, might be worth asking them about it?

I outsource my data entry but I haven't tried it for research - You'd need to spend a lot of time training them in exactly what you want and wouldn't be worth the effort unless you're running a business.

VA ? You mean BA ?
I would have thought a BA ticks all the boxes you list.

Thanks for the feedback Jess. I understand what you are saying. I am running a property business. I guess it would be important to give them discreet tasks with specific and clear instructions.

Have used them in the past. Need strong structure and open ended questions. If you ask if they understand what you just asked them to do the answer will always be use. Cultural, aim to please their employer.

If giving access to rpdata and other sources and have a form letter they just need to fill in the details then won't be an issue.

I have considered using offshore labour for very low end work that professional staff do not want to do.

However every time we identify a low end task we then find a technology solution that will automate it for us. And that happens without the hassle of trying to maintain a culture of excellence with people you never meet.

the low end work that can be offshored effectively for an accounting firm includes

    - managing asic lodgements through a tool such as nowinfinity corporate messenger. emailing clients annual statements and reminders through the docusign tool
    - printing returns and financials for signing and sending via docusign
    - electronic lodgement of returns
    - checking tax agent portal
    - collating and preparing key performance indicators for the practice manager and partners

    and the list goes on.
