Went to a mate's house last night. He and his partner had just finished a 14 hour shift at their business. His partner had gotten smashed the night before, arrived 4 hours late, left early and was letting my mate do all the dinner prep whilst polishing off a second bottle. My mate was exhausted, and clearly stressed. They haven't got enough money to do anything....no holidays, no repairs....nothing. Stuck. They have a huge mortgage on a house that's worth 25% less than what they paid for it and its all a disaster. I was talking to my wife on the way home and she said my mate's partner was spending $400 a week on wine and ciggies...while they barely has enough money to eat. It then got me thinking to my own family who all sit around over a bottle of wine talking wonderful yarns.....but never achieving anything because their sitting around having too many wonderful yarns over bottles of wine...... It got me thinking about Vice....in this case alcohol....but it could be anything (coffee, TV, crackbook, crack, sugar, ...whatever). most of us have one or four...so..how have you managed it/avoided it/embraced it...and how has it affected your wealth so far? Have you seen it doing bad things to your friends and family? If so have you managed to change their behavior at all? No need to say what the vice is BTW...I just think Vice is something worthy of discussion as it is often overlooked in our strategies despite it affecting the outcome greatly.
