I find it difficult to believe that a driver can, apparently randomly, swerve out of his lane on the motorway and run into a car on the side of the road. Not one kilometre further back and not one kilometre past the parked car, but just at that exact precise location. Awaiting dash cam or tracking data please from the truck.

People are rating the Porsche speeding misdemeanour, with the antisocial actions of the driver even though they did not contribute to the deaths.
I would wait until the truck driver analysis is up.

Yeah, as much off a twat the Porsche driver is and I'd lose no sleep if he got hit by a car, it's the truck driver that actually drove into the police , and they have found drugs in his possession. Just bad luck of events for the Porsche driver

Have you heard anything more about the truck driver this week?

Hardly “bad luck” when he was driving at 140km/h. Also yelling abuse at a dying police officer and leaving the scene, drug possession, these are all choices he made rather than “bad luck”. Yep, the police getting hit was “bad luck” but the guy made some dumb choices.

I thought luck was created by a lot of hard work, the harder you work the luckier you became.

Be interesting to see what the blood and urine of the truck driver comes back as.
He's claiming he blacked out just before he swerved perfectly into the path of the police car.
I'm hearing on all accounts that he has a lengthy history involving extreme police hatred.

Has it been proven that one or more officers were still alive when he left the scene? If that's the case, I imagine he's going to be in a world of trouble..

Allegedly there was footage from the officer's own bodycam.

Whatever the court finds, it surely can't be right for the truck driver to remanded in custody until a court appearance on October 1st, nearly six months. Pusey, July 16th, so three months, still too long IMO.

What an absolute scumbag.. Not sure what is attributable to being high on drugs or just being a very poor character.. either way, failing to assist at an accident with people dying will surely result in a very harsh sentence.

One of his charges is 'Failing to render assistance' isn't that it? What else could he be charged with in relation to their death? surely not manslaughter?

I'd say that would be it.. I'm not sure if his failing to assist could have contributed to their death? Obviously he hasn't contributed to the crash..

Thought so, because it would presumably be very hard to prove that even if he did render assistance they would have survived

And if he didn't go into the bushes to relieve himself he'd probably be dead.

Don't forget that Pusey was on bail for other offences at the time of the incident on the Eastern Freeway.

I'd say each of them won't be seeing freedom for a very long time regardless :p
Sure it'd be nice to have an outcome for those families with the appropriate convictions recorded ;)
At least for now both are off the street :p

Edit: as a truck driver you have to keep a log book and driving interstate you have to go thru various heavy vehicle check points, dealing with roads and traffic officers on a daily basis, the idea that the truck driver had an undiagnosed mental condition is laughable....
