    Is this for Perth @MTR?
I've only ever seen them at car shows/yards, could understand tight CBD lots in Syd/Melb but WA?

Little one's could have fun with it Weeee....

It's not common anywhere really except in 2 cases
    1. lots of cars and only a single garage door, it can help shuffle the cars around
    2. have to exit in first gear and not enough room to reverse, ie doesn't have 6m manoevering room.

For #1 you are just rich, and number 2 council hate unless it's for an additional parking area at the back that they nothing about and isn't part of DA plans.

Car stackers are also more common in Melbourne than Perth. They are rather cool.

Car stackers are more **** than cool; especially when you combine their tendency to break down with how long it takes to get in and out in peak periods.

A necessary evil in some cases of course but an absolute last resort imo.

@sanj .. that reminds me I know someone in Melb building apartments where he had costings of around $120,000 for stackers. However, he sound a brilliant architect who managed to get more apartments on the site and no need for stackers. The down side was the architect cost him a little more, but no where close to $120K

Saw one of these just the other week in Coolbinia, a house that's currently being built (taking forever) has one of these in their garage, pretty cool and i'd like one :p

DH's workshop out the back has a single door but is 6m wide so can fit 2 cars. He has the poor person's turntable and jacks the car up on a trolley jack and pushes a car to the side spot with no door access. $50 turntable solution

Lovely spot. Is that a park across the road? I love this time of year with the Jacarandas out.
