I've owned VAS shares for a while now, and have noticed that this latest distribution (to be paid on 17 October) appears that it will have no franking credits applied, whereas the previous payments have. Why would/could this be?

Also, is there somewhere that I can check the history of VAS dividends (and franking % values), as CommSec doesn't appear to show the dividend history for ETFs.

What statement are you looking at?

A very quick glance at this suggests otherwise:

nb the distribution components for October don't appear to be available there yet

Ask for your money back:D. Sharesight has probably just lumped it under unfranked until the distribution breakup is confirmed.

Sharesight is not the source of truth. You should double check the figures from VAS ASX distribution tax estimate announcement. See here

Their latest dividend are franked at 86.18%

    Cheers,

Thanks, guys - this really helps. I never commit the Sharesight trades until the actual pay date, so I can double check the payment advice slip. Now I'm glad - proves everything does still need a human eye occasionally.

Does sharesight classifies the dividend as trust income by default?
Last I used it (over a year ago) it did not - which was a surprise. Back then I also found some discrepancies with distributions for VAS which had to be adjusted manually.

    Ditch the service after that.

I don't think it classifies them as trust income by default - this may be because, for most people, their transactions are not necessarily trust based. But it is easy enough to just press the radio button that allows each purchase to be recorded as a trust based one.

I've only had one issue where the details in the Sharesight tracking of the event didn't match the advice slip for the transaction, but otherwise I've been really happy with what they're producing. It's certainly meant not having to get stuck into more complex Excel formula etc (while, for some people who like the challenge, doing the Excel stuff is a great personal growth exercise, I enjoy the time saving features of using the already-developed Sharesight offerings).

Unless there is a large number of other PC users who can show me a better option than the Shareshight one, I'm happy to stick with what I'm currently using.
