Anyone watch this UK mini series?

The evil empires plan to reduce the world population by 90%

Or maybe not so evil (in their eyes).

    Would decimate property investors :)

It's interesting the situations about the future and how they are painted.
A bleak future, of starvation, and no fossil fuels, with the world fighting each other for resources.. 20 billion people is going to be crazy..

Even without the crazy story, I love the strange whacky characters... "Where is Jessica Hyde?" "Where is Jessica Hyde?"

I saw season 1 and 2. It was creepy as hell @DanW. I did find it kind of compelling though. I completely understand the organisation's reasoning behind wiping out 90% of the world's population although I didn't agree with it. Good series overall.

Mr rabbit, chocolate sultana eating murderer and an annoying welsh accent. It's all flooding back.. Good show, is season 3 out yet?

I got all excited when I saw the title, thought it was going to be about the ABC series with Rob Sitch.

Season 2 of the ABC series has just wrapped up. I haven't seen it all yet, but it reminds me so much of a place I used to work at that it is not funny. I mean it literally felt like I was at work.

Our son says it is OTT. It is. But hubby and I both think it is very close to the offices we worked in :p.

In my experience it is not OTT. Some of the things in the show almost happened word for word at the office I worked in.

Likewise - I recall an episode where endangered grasses were found on a site singled out for redevelopment and drew parallels to having had to relocate a skink population before they went into hibernation.

In Perth, it would be graceful sun moths. What are they even?

I've just finished watching series 1 for the first time. Most enjoyable.

Interesting about the closing music, with a mariachi band playing La Cucaracha. The real words are not what we learnt at school. The song is about a poor old cleaning lady (La Cucaracha) who is so tired because she doesn't have any marjuana to smoke. The words in Spanish as the show is closing say "you don't have, you're missing ..." but cut out just before the "marjuana to smoke".

@geoffw - I thought it was about a cockroach, not poaching a 'roach'

The cockroach is the old lady. For some reason, they never taught us this at school. I was really quite surprised when I learnt this. That's the most common verse sung, but there's a lot more to it- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Cucaracha

I've been to a Mexican party (in Australia) where everybody improvised verses to this. It was apparently quite hilarious, but I couldn't really understand a lot of it.
