    Green card is definately not what I want

    My accountant has already advised to becareful how long I stay in US for tax purposes

    Yep at least the IRS is very clear on "how" they calculate tax eg its just the number of days and none of this "intent" ******** that the ATO tries to include eg grey areas they can catch you on.

    I remember Paul Hogan's stoush with the tax office - he didnt mince words.

    Having said that, the US IRS appears a lot more ruthless than the ATO in chasing debts.

    Debts are chased by ATO and IRS in the same ruthless way @Rolf Latham ,

    As I’m sure you’re fully aware this is also providing you with a natural hedge against E/R risk and movements for any further investments.
    Who knows which way the Aud/Usd will go.
    2 of the big 4 Aussie banks have forecast it going in opposite directions.

    I am positioning myself to take advantage of US property boom and leveraging gives me power to multiply profits

    I may also pull the pin on some of my older stock and bring some profits home
