Upgrading smoke alarms to comply - QLD

    Queensland and their funky requirements! We're going through this at the moment bringing our QLD PM branch houses up to scratch - it sounds like a lot of time when it says 2022, but that is literally 24.5 months away as of today.

    They need one in each bedroom and living area/hallways, so houses there need more of them than other places. Here at our Adelaide branch, our houses typically only need 2!

    Electricians are definitely doing it cheaper than the smoke alarm companies are!

    We did a lot of ringing around in QLD and found a good rate of 199, negotiated it down to 140 for the bulk amount we're having to do. This can still come in at around 1200 for a big house.

    If I were you I'd do it sooner rather than later - don't risk being found non compliant, or unavailability of electrician , parts, tenants, etc prevent you from getting it done.

    Be mandatory to have a heat alarm installed in every garage. That is a heat alarm not smoke alarm.
