Anyone here rate Inala? Yes Ive heard from various people saying it is still full of drugs and theft etc, but many Sydneysiders are exiting Sydney and going to Brisbane, would it shoot up (pardon the pun).

    Springvale was once like this.

Why would anyone leaving Sydney go to Inala?

PS, I know there are valid reasons for buying an IP there, even living there amongst people we work with. But what are your reasons?

Inala has some great stuff happening and a lot of trendy types can be seen eating at the Vietnamese restaurants. Close to the city, well built stucco ex houso properties on good size blocks and the train line. If you haven’t been for a while you maybe surprised. I think the bargains may have been snapped up though.

Take a drive past the MacDonalds/Woolworths shopping centre. Centrelink & The TAB are right there so will give you a decent idea of what your dealing with.

Too much public housing, its around 30%. I dont think gentrification will happen as fast as you’d like or at least as fast some other places already on their way. You may be right but over what time period would you like to see it and at what opportunity cost?

Inala HAS gentrified. You guys should have been there 40 years ago before people extended and renovated their OO homes.

At the current climate where I currently live (Melbourne) is a no go, nothing is worth investing in. I've started looking into satellite cities and doing due diligence here and there for Ballarat and other smaller Victorian cities and also Brisbane. If I was to buy in Inala, I'd hope to hold for 6-8 years.

One stupid question I have which is sort of off topic but in Inala whilst looking through realestate.com.au why are most neighbouring fences very low and made of steel?

Inala is Vietnamese town central here in Brisbane and not surpisingly the neighbourhood is a bit like Cabramatta in Sydney.

Whilst the Vietnamese families that came years ago are mostly pretty well heeled now, U see them drive all the big cars and run the businesses, there are also a lot of housos and african immigrant/refuge population mixed in. So like Logan, its one of those "rougher" neighbourhoods hence the metal fences.

Or maybe its just that metal fences are less graffitti prone.

The chain mesh fences are normal for those houses. That's what HC built.

I came to Brisbane in 1998 and Inala hasn’t changed. If you horizon is 6-8 years look at suburbs between major shopping centres and the city.
