    Supports extended trading hours. Clearly positive for the economy (both business and employees).

    Palaszczuk government backs extended trading hours

    Now if only they proceed to:

    -Allow multiple casinos on Gold Coast;

    -Supported the plan to allow the Southen side of the Spit to be developed (keeping the Northern side as public reserve land);

    -Cracked down hard on bike and meth-drug and violent crime;

    -Supported the growth of the Gold Coast international airport;

    they could potentially get significant additional voter support.

    If only she would stop waving her hands up and down in a chopping motion but pick up a pen and sign a few Acts/deals, for the good of Queenslanders, she might get re-elected.

    One signature every 18 months is not going to cut it. Give the reins to Jackie.

    That's one thing those Queenslanders do better than us Mexicans - daylight savings is bloody useless!!!

    I'd like to see her straighten a banana. The yellow bent kind, not Barnaby.

    I don't like the idea of casinos nor developing the spit. Gold Coast lacks green.
    Agree with your other suggestions

    Noted. Both have there supported and detractors I know.

    In terms of casinos I think of these in the broader sense. Massive international convention facilities for exhibitions and conferences. A hub for amazing restaurants like Crown in Melbourne. A boat marina for high spending international guests. Venues for live shows like Vegas. World class facilities for theatre, arts, music etc. ice skating rinks. Massive indoor gaming centres whether trampoline adventure or virtual reality. A huge amount of related jobs, income, taxes and economic benefit. As for greenery well we have the hinterland that goes inland virtually for ever until it hits dessert. We have the 40km open coast line. We have parks and fields and rivers and playgrounds etc all in between. I see spit as a perfect place for a strip of development with part protected and kept as a country park.

    But I acknowledge that there are strong opposing views. Mine are driven both my wanting a strong economy, business opportunities, and for my investments in real estate to pay off as well as my love of both city life and all the good things the Gold Coast has to offer. But again I realize different people have different thresholds of what they feel the ideal balance is.

    I'm inclined to think she is doing the very best she can for Queenslanders, in that the less she touches, the less she breaks.... doubt Trad would be any better.
