I have been to few open houses in Blacktown area. For couple of properties that I liked, agent told me that garage is unapproved. Looks like a norm in the area (and may be throughout Australia). What is the best option in such case? 1. Steer clear of the property 2. Ask vendor to get building certificate for the same (I doubt anyone would agree) 3. Buy and then apply to council to get it approved 4. Buy and just pray that council never finds out 5. Title insurance (does it even cover garage in this scenario? Thanks in advance.
