I can't find where it's being streamed. Possibly Netflix elsewhere, but my VPN doesn't work as well as it once did.

It rates really well on IMDb, 8.7, but it's not available on Netflix. There is a Gomorrah movie on SBS.

It's an extremely realistic and relevant show which intelligently seeks to explain and expose the dysfunctions in American society on many levels. Each season focuses on one major theme of dysfunction without necessarily taking its' eyes off other contributors, ie in season 1 we see the failures in the Baltimore Police Department, in season 2 we see the economic contributors, season 3 the failures of the political class at city level and so on.
The writers treat their audience with a mature respect- every scene has a point and it's detail heavy in the dialogue so there's no fat on the bone (no filler scenes that I've found in virtually every other series I've watched).

I've found that a lot of people just gave up after episode 1 or 2 so never really gave it a chance. Definitely not for everyone but if you're the type of person interested in economics, government policy, crime and how they intermingle as underlying causes of societal dysfunction then there's a good chance you'll like The Wire.

The Wire is also a show where you might be better to show the subtitles, even though it's in English. It can get a bit hard to keep up sometimes.

Apparently seasons 1 and 2 were available from Netflix but have been removed, it seems from USA as well as Netflix.

Seasons 1 and 2 only were available on Netflix USA.

Suburra is supposed to be similar, and rates well on IMDb. It's available on Netflix.

Zerozerozero is based on a book by the same author as that of Gomorrah.

Gomorrah, Suburra and Zerozerozero are all by the same director- an Italian director with a long list crime series to his name. I have access to Gomorrah season 1 and 2 so anyone who wants it send me a PM. Don't have season 3- I purchased that one on DVD. They've made a season 4 which I haven't seen yet.

I'd rank 1 and 3 in no particular order above 2

Edit to the previous post- I was ranking the 3 seasons of Gomorrah above but realised you may have been asking about the 3 different shows. If so, I haven't seen Suburra and would put Gommorah ahead of ZeroZeroZero although that's a bit like comparing apples to oranges. I hope they decide to make at least another season of ZeroZeroZero. It meandered a bit towards the middle but it was a refreshing take on the narco trafficking and I loved how the Mexican Drug War was portrayed with more realistic grit- it's based on the brutal Los Zetas Cartel in real life who further militarised the drug war and upped the anti in terms of executions and violence.

I get what you are saying,
everyone raves on about it, I watched it, and it was quite good, but I found it a bit lacklustre, would certainly not rate is one of the top tv shows of all time, and I like cop shows

I thought, the shield was better
maybe because its almost 20 years old

I recently finished watching Homeland which was brilliant,

    then someone recommended "the americans"

the storyline/plot has blown me away

id rate both of these well above "the wire" but i know ill have very little people agreeing with me on that one

Geez they have some great stuff. l'm amazed we don't just naturally show movies and shows from all over man some of the stuff from around the world is just brilliant.
