    I regularly read his tweets without following (I don't want to add to his followers and boost his ego).

    Some are truly disturbing.. irrational, abusive, spiteful and full of grammatical and factual errors. The guy has some serious mental health issues, the consensus of many experts.

    Ironic that his wife is currently speaking out against the destructive power of social media.

    There would be a certain percentage of Trump's followers who are not Trump fans.

    I'd guess most of Obama's followers would be fans though.

    Chalk and cheese really. Followed for very different reasons.

    Trump is the only person I follow on Twitter. I joined up specifically to follow his tweets.
    Most mornings when I check my phone there are around 10 of them. Around 2 out of 10 are kooky and unhinged. Often the other 8 are about how he is making America great. Many of the things he says are not true according to the 'fake media', but I can see how compelling the tweets would be to his base. I suspect none of them have seen their lives change materially for the better despite Trump telling them all about the goals he is kicking. But they would feel he is on their side. It would be very personal for them. There they are earning minimum wage and not being able to feed the family and worrying about their kids getting shot at school, but their President is sending them a message on their phone telling them everything is going really well.
    Sometimes I try and work out what time it is where he is when he is tweeting. A while ago I worked out he was tweeting on the plane just before he arrived in Helsinki to meet with Putin. I imagined him sitting in the dunny on Air force One firing off belligerent tweets. It's even funnier given the Russians would all get his tweets.

    I've also thought about joining just to see what he tweets, but then I give myself a jolly good slapping and tell myself "step away from the phone". :p

    Sorry, that was @wategos you were responding to, not @Depreciator

    It just seemed odd that you raised the subject of the number of Trump's followers, but responded "who cares" when the number of Obama's followers was raised.

    hmmm - perhaps because the only people that go to Trump rallies are Trump obessives ... so, naturally they are eating from his (hopefully clean) hands and boo-ing on order.

    I do read Trump's tweets. I can't believe sometimes how he insults people. He's brutal if he doesn't like somebody. And he obsesses about the Mueller investigation. Which, if he was innocent, he wouldn't need to.

    Lots obsessed with Trump and not necessarily those that voted for him...… Look at what is happening on PC... How many posts on Trump:rolleyes:....

    Its all fun and games, just don't take it too seriously.

    I read Trump's tweets because so much is made of his use of Twitter, and because what he says is important to gain an understanding of his world. Obviously, I like Obama a lot more than Trump, but his tweets were careful and well thought out; they are not important to what is happening in the US.

    His spelling and grammar are awful though. He spelt "councel" several times without correcting; apostrophe use is very inconsistent. Doesn't anybody ever proof read? He's been known to correct tweets before, why not now?

    And his use of capitalisation is off-putting.

    He's getting his message across unfiltered to the American Public, something other politicians have had trouble with. As to his mental capacity, it's all conjecture and hyperbole.

    For a stumbling orange buffoon he managed to make it to the white house.

    Yes. And from all accounts he, his party, his wife and family were all as shocked as he was.

    I'm afraid of what is coming in the next few days. The WH has admitted that they will release news of who will lose their security clearance when it can help to offset a bad media cycle.

    That would be most days.

    While the left is focusing on how immoral, evil he is and concerns about his mental state..... Trump is gathering the troops..... now who is the idiot???
