I have 3 large significant trees on my development site, got an arborist to view and report on all trees on my site, he recommended removal of these trees due to poor condition. Council got their arborist out there and agreed.

I am expecting to pay around $15,000 for removal.... ouch

Also recently found out is that not only the vegetation overlay needs to be considered but the neighbouring trees, root system/canopy... a real eye opener.

Be careful and do everything by the book.

If needed you can always conduct an ERE report since the TPZ and RPZ are imaginary lines.

Have a look also at your neighbours trees. Most don't realise that these are generally more problematic than the trees on your own block.
