That's terrible re defiling. I always thought you meet people at their best when they're on holiday (nicer because they're more relaxed)

Im on @radson's page. We travel very regularly as well.
Our little man turns 1 on Saturday (where the hell did that year go?) will have been to 12 countries and 3 continents plus has visited some of those countries numerous times (Russia x4, Turkey x2, Azerbaijan x4). I counted at one point 35 long haul flights - but it will be over that now.
And this has been a quiet year for travel due to the little guy complicating matters.

Have to kind of laugh when people say they cant travel bacuase of kids. Sure its harder, but they cope just fine (and alcohol on flights is mostly free)

Haha! I just finished saying this. My grandson turns 1 tomorrow too!

We travel a lot, and have been upping it every year.
We started off with an overseas 7 week trip every 2 years but I wasn't ticking off countries I wanted to visit fast enough. So we started doing 7 weeks in the Northern hemisphere every year.
Plus I do a 2 week land based trip somewhere as well (India, Morocco, China, Balkans) without hubby as he doesn't like that. I also go to Bali when i'm not travelling elsewhere as it's dirt cheap and I can just lay on the beach every day and not feel guilty. I'm never home in school holidays.
I'm travel addicted (hence my name). I just retired and we've booked up most of the year travelling. We have a motorhome now and will alternate between that and overseas. :D

That is why I forego a o/s holiday EVERY year and choose to fly business class every 2nd year

Yeah, there's some dodgy ones out there that don't care about the environment around them. Thankfully they seem to be in the minority.

3 rows behind? Oh no... the screaming child is sitting on my lap, kicking the seat in front of me.

It is rare for a child to scream 8hrs straight. They usually wear themselves out well before then.

Its not easy, but the reward of the travel is worth it. Plus there is always whiskey!

Never really travelled, never really interested me. Don't really ever see me doing much of it.

Hee hee I'm taking my kids in business class on Sunday - there is no escaping us :pOur youngest was 4 when she first flew business class - thankfully no screaming but a decent amount of 'are we there yet?'.
Flights less than 5.5hrs (so Australia and to Asia) we do economy but longer than that it's pretty much has to be business class due a 6'4" Mr Westminster with more metal than bone in his spine.
Last few years we've done a couple overseas (asia) each year and 1-2 domestic. This years trips are
    Japan (Tokyo and Sahoro) January
    Indonesia (Bintan Island) April
    Melbourne
    Adelaide

Can't remember you mentioning that before - does it cause trouble at security gate?

Once the travelbug bites you'll never look back. I'm in my last week of holidaying in USA. We learned so much here as a family. We love the national parks, history etc. But it's time to come home.

I'm just nearing the end of a 3 week business and holiday stint in nz. Don't want to go home yet. Hubby's heading gor a month europe when we get back. Not a bad start to the year.

Once every two years. With a family of 5 it isn't cheap. we holiday domestically every January and take a ski trip in snow season.

The thought of travelling os more than that with the kids makes me shudder- yeah, it's great but so exhausting!

We've had two holidays in 5 years. A week in Canberra, a week at the gold coast. Three kids under 9 can be a challenge to manage sometimes. We are looking to go to Disneyland next year and I would like to go to one of the pacific islands.

We love traveling. If it wasn't for work/School and the cost for 5 of us to travel we'd travel twice a year. We said we wouldn't do an overseas trip this year but would cut back to every 2 years...then I saw a Bali special and convinced hubby that it would be cheaper than 2 weeks in Queensland. He's almost convinced.;)
