Easter next year, arrive in Australia from Spain, show my EU vax certificate and on my way, bypass quarantine. Optimistic?

Is anyone else turned off on the prospect of future international travel, given how other countries have struggled with covid? Particularly Europe/US

I'm getting serious withdrawal from international travel :( My goal set in my 30s was to travel internationally every year when I can and well off. Things were going well and that was tracking great over about 8 years.

While travelling within Australia is ok, been to most places of interest for the most part and always figure I could travel my own backyard in my 70s when health is not what it is now. Even now, even travelling within Australia is risky business...less hassle to travel international borders, assuming first you can get in and out of this country! :(

Before covid, plan was for South America but that is well off the table now.

But trying to think of the positive.. Now have 10k saved up in my dedicated holiday fund, and before travel is possible probably will have close to 20. Given I'm not a big spender that'll get me 3 trips at least.

First post covid trip I'm thinking will be France and Spain. But at this rate will be late 2022 at best...

I think that's very possible IMHO. Once the majority of Australians are vaccinated and barring a more deadly strain or one that's not nullified by vaccines, borders will open up.

Quarantine has to be disbanded with bc no one would bother leaving/arriving unless they absolutely have to.
