Hi All, I have been reading previous posts regarding transmission towers near properties. Some says it depends on the location, some says it’s a big No.

Just want to get an overall public consensus about a particular apartment I am considering to purchase.
The unit is roughly 50m away from a 132kV tower as shown.

    Thank you in advance!

The science will say Ur safe. But after spending time watching cricket under those things, they make a shocking noise.

It can't be good for future capital growth.

The only saving grace would be .... like in the castle. 'It's a home ' and love it too much and it's super cheap to buy.

A valuer is likely to raise this as a concern/risk on their report. Depending on your LVR, the lender may not accept the security.

Good points raised there. This is really why Im considering it.. just thinking of living here for 3-5 years then probably sell it after but I’m sure potential buyers will have the same hesitation as Im having now…

Oh right. Few people have also raised that it might be an issue with the lenders so thanks for bringing this up.

Visual Blight, will always be a bit harder to sell, which is why its cheaper than ones not with this view.

Other impediments can sometimes prove to be a good thing long term - for eg, busy 4 lane roads can often get rezoned into higher density blocks.

If you intend to only stay there for as little as 3 years, I'd just rent. Remember you've got costs going into and out of purchasing a property.

Renting is pretty cheap in those big buildings with lots of amenities.

The end of the line. What you can't see can't hurt you... Now to bury that first tower.
