Townsville slowing or going ?

    Hi anyone know what Townsville is like at moment ? Prices up, down, sideways ?
    Differences in prices on houses and units, average rent ?

    Not sure what it is doing right now but things were not looking good there 6 months ago. Super-high unemployment and a property crash.

    It is very cheap though.

    There wasnt a crash, priperty is still well below 2008 prices
    Things did slow though because of nickel refinery / sentiment

    Best bang for buck in aus i reckon (over 100k population )
    Blocks are huge, houses are large and most are character, lifestyle is good too
    Negatives are ibviously unemployment and vacancy (mainly all units/ apartments) but the area / city is extremely diverse so i think now will prove a good time to buy
