Am totally confused regarding whether vegetation can be cleared around our proposed house in brisbane. It's in emerging communities and has an enviro covenant protecting native species on everything other than the building covenant.

Surely this would mean I can clear native grasses that the developer put their around the property boundary up to 3m ? I don't fancy having vegetation RIGHT on the frnceline. And surely within 3m of the build envelope.

Anyone familiar with BCC procedures would be grateful for their help.

Is your property covered under NALL?

I live on acreage covered by NALL.

Have you searched the BCC website?

That is where I got all my information plus the BCC Call Centre was very helpful.

Were U able to build a fence surrounding your property? I have seen my property on the website.

Just generically I thought you could clear vegetation around the boundary up to 3m from the fence line

    Yes, a 1.2m chain-wire fence.
Yes but not what NALL. terms “significant trees/vegetation“. A fence must either sway around the tree, butt up to the tree or dog-leg around it.
