@Westminster As weird as it sounds, I like reading about how my cars and bikes go together from a technical context. My Audi's are all on corporate plans so I pay nothing for servicing. It's more for knowledge.

Cool - I was worried you were going on a cheapskate bender to self service a very expensive car that would void it's warranty.

We have the Haymes manuals for most of our older cars which are great but it's a little harder to get the manuals for a new model unless someone on a car forum gets their hands on one.

No worries. These new cars are basically mobile computers. Impressive but scary at the same time.

Agreed. One of our cars is very 'needy' and likes to complain that it wants stuff all the time - tyre pressure, brake pads, remote battery, window washer fluid, etc etc. It has a sensor for everything and will tell you in an annoying beep that it needs attention. There has been much googling this week how to turn off a 'replace brake pads' service light after brake pads were replaced (out of warranty car )

I believe "service manual" is code for "latest TV series"

@bob shovel , I don't think so champ. I'd rather watch paint dry than waste time sitting in front of a TV watching crap (unless it's Motogp or WSB).

It would probably be easier getting the plug in module via laptop and learning how to modify it than trying to do an oil change on one these days. Not much room to move in there.
