    @MTR

Omg... now you are on gravy train on physiological BS too....

Let's focus on you L'Machi Subdivision in NSW.. Is that on market yet??

i personally think that your L'Machi 52 lot subdivision is LEMON and you need to chill, as it wont go for price you hoping for. $450k per lot... nah more or less like $10k per lot..

So, seat back relax and drink your
LEMONchilo and let Leo handle physiological department of PC.:):):):):):):)

    (p.s. it is joke)

I could be much richer financially if I were to sacrifice morals and integrity to do so. But I wont.

Just went out to see my two dogs, and their look of utter devotion and excitement at seeing me, along with a nice cup of freshly made coffee... I feel pretty well off at the moment.

I'm amazed at how many people on PC put down people who pay rent. On one hand they mock them for not being able to save, get a deposit, etc. But are happy to accept their money. Classy.

Agree. It is all about personal definitions of 'rich' and then mapping out (and executing!) a plan to get you closer to what 'rich' means to you.

This is true no matter of any goal in life. I.e. being not lazy but being a good planner, who then executes their plan.

Some people say, 'If you want X in life just do it!'. The truth is, nothing good really ever comes 'easy'. The best thing anyone can do in life is make good plans first, and then commit to executing them.

Hence my motto in my silly GoT-generator picture on my profile 'Think slowly, act quickly'.

Good planning enables for this and is most certainly not lazy.

No, I haven't seen any mocking of people for paying rent. We LOVE people who pay rent! Many here pay rent themselves. Even I rent occasionally.

We mock people who buy doodads and tattoos and then whinge that they cant afford to buy a house of their own. Two completely different things.

    Nothing wrong with paying rent.

I pay rent! No one's bagging me out (yet)..

@MTR I don't think it's about being lazy. If you love the process, then it's not extremely hard work. If you make investing into a fun hobby it's like playing monopoly. But maybe not everyone likes monopoly..

And your thread title poked a few people the wrong way, us Aussies aren't comfortable with the word "rich" with our Aussie battlers, and our tall poppies that need pulling down.. Would have been a safer bet to say too lazy to be successful property investors.

What bought this on? Were you mentoring someone then they gave up and bought a brand new car on credit? I've seen that before, people say they are going to invest and get all the info, then they go out and spend all of their deposit :(

I hope you don't misunderstand this, but I do think that I'm "better" than most people. That's because the yardstick that I measure myself by is obviously things that are important to me and most of those things wouldn't be as important to most people, hence them "not performing as well on them".

That doesn't mean that I think that others are worth less (or even worthless) though.

I am guessing its all the recent negative attitude towards a certain beloved media focused buyers agent/investor who cant remember how many properties he has, and where questioning it is simply jealousy/people too lazy to achieve

Fully get that. It's about measuring success by your own goals.

But it's also about understanding that how people define success differs greatly. A mate of mine works 6 months a year. Works as a charity worker in a slum in the Philippines doing free dental clinics. He is sacrificing monetary wealth for something else. And there is no way he is lazy.

    Of course everybody works hard.
There would be few people that would openly say that they don't.

Even someone on the dole works hard.
    Just ask them.
It's hard work finding a job.

I could be too if I didn't feed my vices. We've just been skiing with. ..... which cost $$ but the enjoyment and thrill of skiing one of Australia's highest peaks cannot be matched - the kids absolutely loved it. Great parent/kid time.

Have a look at these folks...while they're willing to work on it and racked up debt in their relentless pursuit of financial freedom, don't think they've gone too far ahead in life other than the people that sell this idea to others:

We all come from different backgrounds and have had different opportunities.

I not rich or lazy. I've worked damn hard for what I've got.

I've found the more money you have the easier it is to make. Perhaps there is a perception from people who have always had money that it is easy to come by, however that isn't the reality for a large proportion of the community.

MTR, genuine question, not having a go at you.... Do you think you would be financially rich if you raised your two girls on your own and had to rely just on your own income from day dot (ie. no ppor equity to start with and no husband income)?

How did you work this out?

What do you back this up with?

How many was the "most people"?

Did "most people" tell you this or did you just make it up?
