I have a strange and warped mindset towards money these days.

I am like Bayview in the fact that I refuse to pay for water.. I always carry a water bottle and there is always somewhere to fill it up. Even little cafes. I have never been refused a top up out of the tap. Groceries are bought with supermarket vouchers bought with CC points. I could go on and on :)

But on the other side, I like nice things :). I love travel, I love my new BMW, I love jewellery. I look for the best value I can live with.
Dealer demo BMW , cash converter and estate jewellers, travel deals etc.

It is the "tightass-ness" that allows me to have the luxury doodads.

I know a developer that does 100m worth of projects a year and he said to me few months ago "I don't buy anything unless I get a discount, and I mean anything".

This is similar to me... I bought a new multi-function HP scanner/printer with ADF for $17 recently from Harvey Norman!

I think for many entrepreneurs like us @FireDragon , its in the blood. The thrill of a deal :)

Went to Harvey Norman (in low socio economic area as its easier to negotiate) to buy quite a few appliances. Total bill came to $6500 approx. That was WITH everything on good sale. I told the sales rep I have a budget and I will take everything from him if he can give it to me for $6,100. After some hoo ha he agreed. Just walked out with an extra $400 in savings.

A lot of talk about cars on this thread.
I have had expensive v8's before I owned properties, I didn't like the stress of driving an expensive daily.

I know cars are a want more than a need and I love cars as much as anyone else, so my mindset is that I will buy another you again soon, but it will not a a car that depreciates, so most likely a 69 Camaro etc etc.. At least with something like this you don't see your money falling between your fingers like sand..

I'm about to sell my VE SS and drive around in the fiance's Corolla instead. Dreading it...

But when I have financial freedom I will get another V8!
