    Pensions for most politicians are extremely generous. For members who started before about 2011, they are also indexed. Tony is by no means unique, he just has one of the better pensions after this election.

    Watch for the same story for other pollies in upcoming elections.

    And despite recent media derision surrounding him, we can all thank Mark Latham for ending the ride on the politician super gravy train when he promised to reduce the overly-generous scheme, leaving no option but for other parties to support the change.
