As the title says, how much would you expect to pay for a toilet seat to be replaced?
Nothing fancy.. Found a simple one, perfect for the job at Bunnings for $24.

One of my tenants has asked to have the toilet seat replaced.. its started to discolour.
More than happy to change, just wondering on cost.

I'll be up that way in a month, so would be able to do it myself for $24 total, but would rather someone else get it done beforehand.

No, asked the PM to arrange it (up to $100 total).
I just want to replace it with something similar to what is currently on there.
Just had a better look at the Bunnings website and the one that looks to be most similar is ony $16.50 - Caroma Ivory Tasman Toilet Seat

But then there is the price for someone to come and do it (and whatever margin they add on top).

Installation is only 2 x plastic bolts made finger tight. Drop off the seat and let the tenants install themselves (and deal with their own mess that the existing seat is hiding - yewh!)

I agree. Try asking tenant to do it. One of my tenants will fix simple things and send my PM invoice...I mean simple things.

I doubt it'd cost less than $100 total to pay someone to do it

Will they replace the toilet roll at the same time?

Lol! one minute we're reading the dramas of tenants breaking things etc, and then...
LMFAO!!!! Does a discoloured toilet seat function differently?

I'd say someone's function had discoloured the toilet seat.

Yea, being old I was gunna say, maybe ask them to lay off the bran and prune juice.

If the cisterns getting oldish (or still single flush) I usually replace the lot with one of these - Estilo White Replacement Cistern with Seat

No-doubt have to get a someone out to replace the value eventually anyway so all sorted.
However if that ones smaller than exciting the wall will need paint.

    Discoloured? Lol.
Just add some tips... not every toilet seat will fit every toilet. Be careful when you buy for your toilet because if it doesn't fit and you've opened it, you cannot return it to a store like Bunnings. Eg. The holes for the fixtures maybe too small or be placed too close or far away.

Personally I like a hard plastic toilet seat, not one made of soft bendable plastic. Its better quality. Spend that little bit more. ($24 model should be ok)

Changing toilet seats can pretty much be done by anybody 16 years old and older.
    Just even a neighbour.

Ok. My personal bathroom at home has a wooden toilet seat... my home has a sandstone country feel, and its a bathroom that I feel suits the house. :) But this bathroom wouldn't suit other style of homes.

For the Sydney airbnb nothing gave me more delight than to put a great solidly hard white plastic toilet seat on for the toilet though.* Perfect.

*entirely exaggerating, but it did give me joy :)

My favourite ever was when I was in Japan

I should spoil myself and get one, also need a sparkie to put a power point in, but that's a mortgage payment, but I only live once, oh what to do...

Thanks heaps. Ended up finding a few that would fit.
The tenants neighbour is going to buy and install it for him.

I stayed in a 'Westernised' hotel room in Japan, and it had a toilet similar to that. Did not feel comfortable using it, purely because the seat warmer was almost instant when you lift the lid - felt like someone had just used the toilet before me (even though I was alone in the room lol).
    It had so many buttons..

If only they had models like this..
