And zee...plan unravels....watch Brissie and Outer Melbourne...when this is more pronounced you will see activity on those two areas rocket....

The Specufesters will still be picking up property in Sydney....they will get a **** whooping...800k for an unrenovated property is insane where the intrinsic value should be $600-650k. That was based on a 350-380k price point in 2008.

    I agree.

Whereas everything was selling previously within a 4-6 week period at full or above ask, there are properties that are simply not selling and are hanging around.

The next stage will be when those properties will need to be discounted and the effect it has on new stock.

But what if those properties was snapped by the rich Chinese investors as safe haven of their investment ?

LOL I see, let's just wait the other city to invest then rather than waiting for Sydney price to plummet down.

Possibly, because mostly Chinese people would buy in the suburb with ...-wood suffix
Eastwood, Burwood, Chatswood.... with the Exception of Ashfield and Hurstville.

The 'wood' comment sparked my interest. Made me laugh but then I got to thinking... I had always assumed the 'wood' suburbs were Chinese-favored due to the great school catchments these suburbs are in.

Makes me wonder though.. if the Chinese place belief in numbers simply because they 'sound' like good or bad words (the number 4, for instance sounds like the word for death), maybe the word wood sounds like something lucky? Chinese culture does favour wood, particularly mahogany (I believe due to the red tinge colour of the wood - red being the lucky colour)..

I digress. Erm, Sydney.. Let's see what auction clearance rate presents tomorrow. My guess is low 80's.

    East - too expensive.
West - No one wants to go.
South - We are not here to fish.
So.. North does make sense a little :)
