    It would be great to share your timeline of property purchases and other major milestones (marriage, kids, divorce, retirement, starting a business, millionairedom, property sales, major career changes etc).

    This is a revival of an old topic I posted on Somersoft. It was fascinating.

    I'll start. Mine's pretty shot so far:

    1985 - Born
    2010 - PPOR
    2013 - IP1
    2014 - IP2
    2015 - Started business
    2015 - IP3

    1995 - Started work with my current employer and started renting
    2001 - Married
    2009 - Divorced
    2012 - Buy land for PPOR
    2013 - Start building PPOR
    2014 - Finish building PPOR and finished renting
    2015 - IP1

    1975 - Born.
    2000 - Married at age 25.
    2001 - Bought PPOR, new OTP apartment, got 14k FHOG which was desperately needed.
    2003 - Sold PPOR after 2 year hold, as no way to add value, and I had decent building/reno skills.
    Bought another PPOR, dilapidated house on a main road, plans to reno myself to build equity.
    2005 - Started a business from scratch to help fund future accumulation of IP's.
    2007 - Bought IP1 in Sydney.
    2008 - 1st born.
    2010 - Bought IP2 in Brisbane.
    ........ - Bought IP3 in Brisbane.
    2011 - IP1 developed into a Duplex, hold as IP's.
    2012 - IP2 developed into 5 townhouses, hold as IP's.
    ........ - Sold PPOR after 9 year hold.
    ........ - Bought another PPOR.
    2013 - IP3 developed into 6 townhouses, hold as IP's.

    No Nathan Birch here, but happy with how things have progressed.
    Business profits has allowed this style of investing for us.

    Funny you say that!

    That place is white hot...have one in Mooroka and another in Annerley...

    These places are bluechip now...and hard to develop also due to restrictions..so supply will be in check. What did you build?

    1999 - Immigrated to Australia with 0 english
    2000 - Married
    2004 - PPOR 1 unit
    2009 - Sold PPOR 1 (never heard of options to keep both) and bought house PPOR
    2015 - IP 1 and many more to come :)

    No need to worry...if you built T/H style...they are probably already worth 550-650k a piece....that already almost $7m right there. And those areas are future blue chip!

    2002 - PPOR (Canberra)
    2003 - Moved to UK & PPOR became IP1
    2004 - Read Jan Somers books, joined Somersoft! Got motivated.
    2006 - IP2 (Sydney)
    2007 - Moved back to Oz & rented
    2008 - PPOR (Sydney)
    2013 - IP3 (bought out equity partner from PPOR and moved out)
    2013 - Started renting again
    2013 - IP4 (Mrs bought out her equity partner)
    2014 (first half) - Cleanup of finance, Restructuring banks/equity access and new broker
    2014 (second half) - IP 5,6,7,8 (Adelaide) and 9,10,11,12 (Brisbane). All 8 are < 50% of portfolio!
    2015 - Hanging around on PChat.. being sad about APRA... and letting our credit files heal.

    I don't think 2014 is repeatable in the current lending environment, and we don't have the cash for it anyway. I'm glad we did it when we could before they locked things down, now we just wait and watch. Maybe time to think about other more important things - for example what @Touristy has been doing ;)
