I've been lurking for a few months, benefitting from the huge amount of information available here so I thought I would introduce myself. Never having seriously considered real estate as an investment vehicle until the start of this year I've had a lot to learn, it's been a great experience so far. After 4 months of searching we had an offer accepted on a house a week ago, now looking forward to settlement and getting a tenant in before the end of the year. It's been really enjoyable so far for two reasons. Firstly, the feeling that I'm effectively running my own business and will enjoy all the benefits of the effort in the future. Secondly, now having what I feel is a great team in place will be a launching pad for growing the portfolio over time. Cheers.
