    Hi guys,

I need to install a new boundary fence at an Ipswich property, and then subdividing in Ipswich and Logan so will need another 80m or so between the 2 of these.

Just wondering what everyone recommends regarding wooden vs metal fencing?

I'm looking for a cost-effective solution but also want something long-lasting so happy to pay a bit extra for that if I need to.

Will be retaining the properties as rentals but will also want them to value up well of course...

    Cheers!

What are the surrounding fences? Wire? Paling? Metal?

    Is it floodprone?

I have been a fan of steel fences for a while :D

But in places like Kurnell the posts rust out in no time :(
(low water table, negated by using H4 treated pine posts)

Then if there is a lot of gardens/trees, the bottom rail fills up and rusts out eventually....o_O

Overall the steel looks better, looks better for longer, and if cared for lasts longer also

Never go with the cheap nasty quote, it shows

    Good question!

Ipswich - Wood, wood and more wood on all sides!!
    Logan - Cream colorbond

    Nope, neither are floodprone..

    Also, what colour?? :)

I had that issue and used gal and powder coated at extra cost. No complaints
