Speak with your local tile supplier (try somewhere like Glennon Tiles)

Contemplating tile over tile for toilet and bathroom
As I know whats under the tiles :(
Only thing it would leave a 25mm step up from polished floor board
    Yes or no?

(Floor boards used to have carpet)

You can use slim tiles about 3.5mm, match it up to a quad moulding around 18mm or so. That would work?

I’ve done it, this is about 50mm. Screed/existing tiles plus new 8mm tiles.

Previous floor was solid/not hollow and removing 40mm screed of an entire room just to put it back in to create shower fall is painful.

Was concerned at first, am told it’s very common and looking back no one even comments or I barely notice anymore.

You'd have to be very careful not to drop anything more than a date roll otherwise you'll crack a tile.

Would a quad or something rounded perhaps blend better and not stub toes?

    Coving rather than quad.

I did tile over tile in bathroom and tile over vinyl tile for a kitchen, both going strong 7 years later with no issues. I had to use a sealant to go over the vinyl tiles first, both existing floors were in great condition.
