    Hi all!

I want to lay tiles in herringbone style for my kit chen as in the pictures and my tiler said he will charge me extra $450 on top . do you think it is a fair price? the kitchen splashback is just around 1.7 sqm

Its normal for it to cost more, as its harder and more work involved.

But 1.7sqm, is that a typo?

There's about 20-25% wastage of tiles in herringbone and alot more cuts vs no cuts if laid as full tiles in stretcher Bond.

Yeah, the lighting can really amplify differences in depth of tiles.
Not a good pic at all.
