Tiles gone white

    i have some tiles that I cleaned with metho spirit because it had markers graffiti on it.

    Ther marker markings are gone but my tiles have gone white? Can it be repaired?

    The metho has reacted with the tile sealer and made it go white. You never use metho on sealed tiles.

    You need to use white spirits to remove the white staining, then re-apply a tile sealant.

    Is white spirit just turpentine? The stuff you clean paint brushes with when you use oil base paint? Google tells me it is but it says mineral turpentine, not sure whether turpintine is the same.

    I've already tried turpentine, the white marks are still there.

    Turps is same base but doesnt dry as clean and fast as white spirits

    That looks like slate ?

    Slate is not ceramic, you have probably removed a sealer that brings out the natural colour ?
