NSW Thoughts on registrating land in SW Syd (e.g. Gledswood Hills)

    Currently at Gledswood hills its possible to purchase blocks at around the $1000 mark or under, approx lead time until prepared for building is at least one year, realistically two.

    Would it be a good idea to register a few blocks and then build on them in a few years?

    You mean buy outer western sydney land looking for the price appreciation that occurs over the next two years?

    I think this strategy worked a charm in 2014, and doing so in 2017 is far more risky (given current property environment).

    Having the subdivision potential does offer scope to add value though - so that may be risk management factor. In some cases, land registering later is similar to purchasing OTP.

    There's lending risks to consider too - as financing is done later.

    I'm curious what the Badgeries Creek development will bring to the area.

    It could be amazing could be a white elephant.

    I do think it will be a great thing for the SW and W Sydney
