Hi guys - just wondering what you think about Kangaroo Valley? Will it go up or down? Anyone know about any trends or development plans for the area? We'd love to use it as a weekender with the kids and then add value, make it a dream home, maybe Airbnb it or rent it, and then sell in a few years. I've found a fairly good cottage for $690 on 1acre. Do you think KV will go up or down? Thoughts in general very very much appreciated...

You're buying now at inflated prices, many people have/ had the same idea.

The area has no drivers but close proximity to the large regionals, large home owner occ area and holidays.

Mind you, century 21 Aus founder owns the golf course there, so he liked it enough.

City slickers are headed in their droves. But may have peaked??

Its lovely. Its not cheap, but its that way for a reason. Council appears satisfied retaining the look and feel and are unlikely to ever approve 10-20 thousand Mcmansions in that kind of area. It is a historical farming district that is more and more populated by trendy baby boomers escaping the city. This means the restaurants and coffee is improving of course... If you are willing to renovate and the land is good then you might find some potential there.
