If you have to buy a house in Thornlie or Huntingdale in Perth, which suburb will you chose and why? Assuming building size, age and land size are similar...

    Thornlie for me.
Metronet expansion, the new town planning scheme coming up, close proximity to cannington which is becoming a bigger and greater employment and lifestyle hub for many, reasonably quick trip on the train to the city plus the soon to be 3 train stop journey to cockburn, which is another significant hub

A Facebook groups advice. The further from the train station the better. Closer to Forrest Lakes shopping center was prefered area to live.

Thanks Sanj. Would you consider east side of Spencers Road if a good opportunity comes up? I know it has been called out as the area to avoid but keen to hear your views on the gentrification happening in that area.

Similarly, keen to seek your views on the are between Roe and Yale...closer to Nicholson Road intersection? Thanks heaps

    Sorry just saw this.

She bought a liveable 3x1 on 984sqm, flat block, wide frontage and good soil, about to be rezoned to r40 for $320k.

She since spent about 4k painting it and carpeting the bedrooms but that's been the extent of work done.

Pretty good buy imo that will bring good results going forward

Did you end up purchasing in Thornlie? I am looking into Huntingdale as the Data is improving, but still unsure about the long term prospects of the suburb.

I would choose Thornlie over huntingdale anyday but will choose huntingdale over Gosnells and adjacent subs
Thornlie is only second to Canning Vale

East side of Spencer road is getting most of the new subdivisions and newer houses mainly due to bigger blocks

Forest Lakes side has spots where its extremely expensive and no potential subdivisions so unless I am buying to live in it, will otherwise prefer a bigger land.

    Thornlie hands down

    Look for rezoning precinct. R40
Get onto Council webpage, intra maps
Anything with deve potential will be a winner with upside

This area has already seen significant ….. but nothing going to stop this train… 2022 will be another good year

Great Thanks MTR for your guidance! I have tried the council webpage and intra maps, I could only see the existing zones such as Residential R60, R50, R40 etc. And there is no any of this type of zones in Thornlie at the moment. How could I know the rezoning info?
    Really appreciate your help!

Found more detailed zoning maps in the council web site. Thanks a lot for your help :)
