Um.....it has been like that ever since being broadcast or filmed.....and long before.....

They do not get much done that is really beneficial, just more red tape an bueracracy from all.

I feel like I'm in an alternative reality - Shorten is looking better and better as a Prime Minister and a united party (I have never voted Labor in my life).

I cannot understand why this school discrimination policy is even under debate. The NLP are using the argument that "the law has never been enacted" - well - frankly - that's a BS to justify not changing the law, as there is nothing to prevent it "being" enacted at any point in the future.

Simply to say "something has never been done" - is not an excuse to continue with that "thing" being a possibility enshrined in law.

The LNP (ScoMo) is so out of touch with the people

    What learn ?

Too learn you need too pay attention, clearly ego and self interest is the name of the game, they do not care, only about own agendas.

It just shows how irrational and somtimes stupid humans can be occasionally.
The LNP milked it for all it was worth and got elected .
Then year's later done exactly the same.
No one stopped and pondered about the repercussions or the unintentional fallout of pushing Turnbull out , although he did keep his word and completely resign from parliament.
One of the unintended results was the loss of support from female voters.
When cooler heads should have prevailed for those at the top , they were all running around jockeying for positions within the "New Dutton led government".

There’s nothing wrong with our parliament, its the people we elect to represent us that is the issue. Pay peanuts and you get monkeys.

It's not so much the pay - but the trail of expenses they can rack up over the "retired" years.

I'd rather pay them more while in office - but they get nothing once voted out

Pay them at least double what they earn, after all they run the biggest business in town, but don’t let them have anymore than two terms. Limiting the number of terms will mean they will need to produce results in a short period of time and not hang around in parliament indefinitely cutting deals to save their jobs.

Going back to original posting (what a novel concept).

MPs can insult others, they can repeatedly interject, they respond to useless Dorothy Dixers, they can arbitrarily suspend parliament and they can just not bother answering questions.

A lot of this could be cleaned up by having an independent non partisan speaker.

It's as if the Liberal party are determined to get flogged in the next election.

What on earth were they thinking - parachuting an out-of-area "celebrity" politician in, over the local choice? All that's going to do is peeve the locals off even more

Snubbed Liberal candidate to run as independent in Gilmore

And now the selected candidate (the son of the late Alby Schutz) has resigned the party and will run as an independent. I don't blame him. That will split the lib vote, and may very well ensure that the seat is lost. Another one for ScoMo.

I think the Liberal party will be shot down in flames at the next election - both NSW state and federal ... and I've been a lifetime Liberal supporter until recently
