Airport train is handy if there's only 1 or 2 travelling... with a group of 4 the taxi is probably a better way to go, cheaper and not prone to the 30 minute off-peak frequency. The taxis can go through the AirportLink tunnel anyway.

We have a toddler and a newborn - guessing yours are a bit older but walking age?

New farm markets on a Saturday morning - coffee and breakfast, room for kids to run
Then grab city cat for a loop
Southbank for cool down and lunch
GOMA or other indoor activity for 1-4 to keep out of sun
Dinner out - plenty of family friendlies around

Walk over the bridge and around botanic gardens (good way to wear kids out a bit) or take in kangaroo point

Taxi from airport and keep in mind cruise terminal is a bit out of town

    Its a pie.
They are OK at best and very over rated IMHO and certainly not worth a special 40klm trip to get.

Agree - wouldn't rate in top 5 shops in eastern seaboard, definitely not worth the trip

Some members of PC have no sense of taste. Try a Yatala pie, just get there before the crowds at lunch.

Depends where you stay and how old the kids are. Some things we do often:

New Farm Park - best playground in Brisbane, markets on the weekend, bar by the water with a footpath sculpture that the kids can climb on
South Bank - good restaurants and bars (if money isn't an issue, go to Stoke House with arguably the best view in Brisbane), good walks, turtle spotting
Jump on a Ferry - cruise up and back. You can get off and walk through St Lucia campus with its beautiful sandstone Great Court, or off in the City, Riverside...
Burgers in Wynn Lane in the Valley, Greek at Lefka's at West End... all reasonable prices

What do you like? Most of the best things in Bris are free, or cheap.

Just ring a real estate agent and tell them you're an investor from Sydney. They'll pick you up from the airport and drive you around for 2 days. :D:p:D

If you want a good pie, the best place is Piefection, Logan Rd, Mt Gravatt Central. Along the lines of Jack Daniels beef, slow roasted pork belly, green thai chicken curry etc etc. Amaze balls.

Best bakery for sourdoughs and bagels I've come across in Brisbane has to be Brewbakers on Sandgate Road in Albion.

Best patisserie I've discovered to date would be Flour and Chocolate on Wynnum Road in Morningside.

This could be an entire thread topic in itself...

How odd. Didn't notice this last week.
I wonder who pays for this?
