Kale and @Oats doesn't sound like a good combination.

Today's heat & wind (over 40 degrees) saw lots of branches down and plant damage (burning) - it'll be more noticeable over the next few days. Grabbed a few leaves on the tomatoes and they were crisp.

Neighbour's large bottlebrush lost an 8 m limb. Spent a fair while cutting it up for the LOL.

Now she'll have greenwaste for weeks to come.

Whenever I grow edible plants, all I seem to feed is caterpillars. So this time I planted basil in pots and covered them in insect netting. They are soooo awesome. Which then led to the purchase of a vegepod - so I may actually get to harvest something!

Growing oyster mushrooms requires sufficient fresh air otherwise this is what can happen:D:

I like the split compost tumbler, but getting the compost out can be messy

Just picked these 665 g of grey and white oyster mushrooms all of which will be served fried with Sunday brunch in an hour or so. A few of the larger whites looking a bit rough around the edges due to me sampling same on the way upstairs:):

I'm being slack with the piccies today.

I dug up two potato plants and got about 300-400g of washed spuds, a couple of large and a couple of chats.

Picking a punnet of mostly cherry tomatoes each day. Bushes are around 6' tall and laden in fruit. Pulled a dozen baby carrots 3-4" long.

We've had the first pick of the green beans, second pick won't be as big.

Made a bruschetta with the tomatoes, garlic & fresh basil (only bought the bread).

Rocket has had it's first cut, nice and peppery.

Sage is growing wild with massive leaves.

What variety do you have to plant to dig up washed spuds? :p
