Hi Realto1, how’d you go with this? I’ve heard there are people that will sell their dot maps but I’ve not researched this myself just yet.

Does anyone know where I can find the national median house price both for now and previous months?

Hmm, not something I’ve looked for, but I’m sure it must be out there readily available. Google?

I did and I am amazed that this data is not more readily available.

I use free SQM Research data to track stock levels on the Mornington Peninsula and in specific suburbs. I've since found the market is very tightly held and listings are become fewer as demand continues to grow. Microburbs can also be used to view level of ownership in some suburbs compared to others. For example, Portsea, Sorrento, Flinders, Mt Eliza and Point Leo have the most areas in Melbourne owned outright. This can also indicate potential risks in specific suburbs due to a large percentage of mortgage holders being in concentrated in a particular area vulnerable to rate rises. Landchecker also has free updated high rise imagery!

Here is a complete list of auction clearance rates in each suburb:
Suburb Ranking Melbourne VIC by Auction Results House Median Price - AuHousePrices.Com

You will notice the cheaper priced suburbs usually have a higher clearance rate than the expensive inner ring suburbs.

Your investment property magazine does a 10 year figure, elsewise you can use the trend part of realestate.com.au suburb profiles for the rest

Not sure how much I trust Landchecker. They seem to have their own maps, so how often are they updated? Zoning and Overlays change relatively frequently. The State Gov site is clunky but at least you can be sure the info is accurate! Great idea though.

thanks for this really useful info.
I have tried using microburbs and the data looks old, for some surburbs it was as old as 2016.
Am I doing something wrong or thats how it is?
I like their interface so would be great if data was current

Yes I spoke to the Microburbs site guy very briefly months ago. He was pretty terse considering I was calling looking for help signing up to his website (my email wouldn't fit). Some of his data I would say would be from the 2011 census, such as the Public Housing stats which were removed from the questions in the 2016 Census.
I get the sense that he has just left making any more updates to Microburbs as it proved unsuccessful (he usually builds something then sells it).

Great list. Which of these websites provides email notifications for property value changes?

Do any of these provide prompts when to consider a purchase, speak to an agent, get a depreciation report?

A CoreLogic RPData Professional subscription allows that bar a depreciation report.
It is called the 'Watch List' function.

The back of A Your Investment Property Mag will give you this data bar 10 year growth. But I think conversely their website gives you the 10 year growth rate but not the 3 or 5.
From memory though realestate.com.au usually goes back about 8 years with median prices, so you could just do the math from there.
