Hmm, I might let my staff have the day off due to the Adelaide storms, too. :D

I try to keep the laptop and phone charged and one of those portable battery things charged for such situations. It's the modern day candle.

If you can't endure a few hours without power you need to swallow a bag of concrete.

Yes, dam been releasing water, but it is not as bad there as in the past, there is also talk that some have created un approved banks, the wet areas get wet regularly, the locals that live in the wet areas know the drill.

Someone asked me about Parkes, I think it is too hilly in many parts, but there must be some creeks.

Sorry Nemo30. I just find it amazing the system could fall over that easily.

So I should stop complaining that it took me 2 hours to get home tonight....? :p

I'm surprised that a storm could knock out power to the entire state too! With the exception of a massive natural disaster, it is just crazy.

Having no power for a few hours isn't a big deal, but when all traffic lights are out too - that's just dangerous.

Anyway, glad to hear everyone so far is safe and sound and the power is coming back!!

Did they not tell you some of these new phones by popular makers suck so much power they catch fire ! Of course it was you......domino effect.

Get your day pack, grab as many 30 round mags and your AR or AK and head for the hills nuetralising threats as you go, oh wait, that is the drill for power outage in US states.

Thing is the creeks are getting lower, the puddles etc have dried up. Just Forbes with the 'natural disaster'. There are some low lying areas that are like a swimmjng pool though - farms. Poor cows.

That's what happens in country towns. We're expecting our power to go down at 3am-ish. It always does when it gets windy.

Oh, yes. And that's also why country towns tend to have higher teen birth rates.... (not saying this about Adelaide but yes, there maybe a spike in the maternity wards in 9 months... stay safe).
